The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection
Perhaps the most iconic piece of
footwear prop in the history of movies, Dorothy's Ruby Slipper from the
Wizard of Oz will undergo a 21st century re-interpretation at the hands of
some of the footwear world's most talented women's shoe makers.
Working with the likes of Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Roger Vivier, Sergio
Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Betsey Johnson, Diane von Furstenberg
and Alberta Ferretti, each entity looks to create their very own style of
the brilliant ruby red shoe. Styles will incorporate the usage of Swarovski
crystals as well to give it that necessary allure. The collection will tour
the world and eventually get auctioned off for the Elizabeth Glaser
Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
